When is it time to move on?

Ever had a day at work where nothing went quite right?

Today my supervisor was not there but she sent me an email, "you have a zero on your quality report for etc....." It didn't make any sense to me but of course she wasn't available and won't be for three days.

Then my entire shift I had technical problems. My phone wouldn't work, my headset is broken and no one would leave me alone. I have a lot of friends at work but sometimes I just want to work and not be bothered all the time!! My friend Tonee is the best of course and I love talking to her. But my Average call time for June isn't good so far.

We are switching to a new project soon and we will be taking a lot more calls and not getting bonuses. They are being very quiet about the whole thing b/c they don't want anyone to freak out. I got offered another job yesterday and it has bad hours. I am so tempted to take it though just because I am tired of this one. The pay is good, but it is started to be very hard and not worth it.

The main question is
"When is it time to move on?"

Basic workings of a call Center!

Don't you wish all training could be like this?

Have you ever wondered what some call centers have in common?

  1. The one name strategy. Have you ever had a crazy customer call you and say " What is your name young lady? And how do you spell that?!! Every call center where I have ever worked I have been allowed to only give my first name for "security reasons." At my job now I am allowed to give a false name. I always go with Sue. If you are not allowed to do this, then give them the best possible service ever!! Be freaky happy! It always works.
  2. Quality reports. All call centers have some kind of quality report. They usually give them at the beginning of the month and at the end of the month. We always have the same amount but they always seem to catch me on the calls I mess up on. Keep up with the changes and if you supervisor tells you one thing but it is contradicted by someone else GET IT IN WRITING!!!!
  3. Average call times. This varies depending on the type of calls you have. If you are customer service then it is probably in the 2-3 minute range while if you are a switchboard operator it is probably in the 45-50 second range. Keep up with this and keep track of it yourself too. If you notice yourself getting complacent or slow then take a drink of water, do exercises and clear your workspace of distractions.
  4. Constant Changes. Call centers are always fast paced and changing. If you can't keep up then you can be replaced very easily. Write down any and all changes and print out the emails that you need. Do not let yourself fall behind or you will stay that way!!

Crazy Call Center

Here we come to the main subject of this blog!! Customer service nightmares!!!
I work in a call center. And I am going to share with you all of my crazy stories of people who called in.

Today there was a lady with a self cleaning oven- She was very upset because the store had sold her an oven that did not self clean. When ever she started it up, the top of the oven was still dirty! She just did not understand what was wrong with the $#@!$ thing! And of course it was all my fault and she was never shopping with us again!

When I worked for a finance company a man called and said that he didn't understand why these people didn't understand why he couldn't pay his bill. "Don't they know that I just bought a big screen t.v?" And I paid them 3 months ago! How much to they want to get paid?

Try to explain to that man that you have to pay a credit card company more then once every 3 months!!

  1. Lets face it the economy stinks right now but don't despair there are a lot of ways that you can save money!
  2. The redbox- Rentals are only $1 a night and you get free rental codes almost every Monday and on some Wednesdays. They are going to put Blockbuster out of business!
  3. Freebies there are tons of freebies to be found on line and in your local stores. If you have a CVS in your area you have to check out this blog.
  4. Gas prices are getting really high right now. To check out the lowest gas prices in your area go here.
  5. If you have a Costco or a Sams Club in your area try it out. They are usually free to try and are really worth it. My Costco has gas and it is frequently cheaper then the local stations. They also sell medicine and Shampoo in bulk.
  6. Make your lunch every day and your kid's lunch if you eat fast food try to limit it to once or twice a month. Look online for coupons. Arbys
  7. Entertainment book. This is my all time favorite. We make it into a game! We see how many things we can do in a night for half price. It is quite alot! Today the 2008 book is free when you reserve a 2009 book. So that is 5 months of free coupons. Pretty good deal.
  8. Restaurant.com. You can buy a $25 gift Certificate here for your favorite restaurant for $10. If you click here then you only have to pay $6. Make sure to call the restaurant first to see if they still take the coupons. We have done this quite a few times! It is great!!

This is my blog about my Crazy Daze and my crazy life. You got here just in time! This is the week that everything happens. My baby sister the doctor goes to Chicago on Friday, yes that is right I said Chicago. You know that really really cold place. Where it is 75 degrees in the summer and below awful in the winter! She is taking the bald guy with her which makes my mom feel better. My sister is only 24. The rest of the world thinks that she is a genius. To me she will always be the little kid that pooped in the bathtub...

Don't even get me started on the bald one that is going w/ her. I like him ok now. But when he was 15 and she was 21 and they started dating? I guess it would have been different if he was older... or normal.... or nice....or washed his clothes.....

But I digress lets talk about me. I am married happily and have a very cute dog. No kids yet but that isn't for lack of trying. I live in a wonderful city in the mid-Atlantic. It is very mild here in the winter and hot in the summer.

I like to make melt and pour soap and to work in my new garden.

Thanks for coming and welcome to my blog!!!!
